1. Main features and specifications
The GALT61120 is an analog-enhanced ASIC chip designed for intelligent vehicle lighting systems. It features 12 channels, 4 groups, and 3 series high-voltage switches that can independently drive 12 LED paths or LED strings. It also supports programmable control of 4 sub-strings, enabling sub-string combination modes. The GALT61120 supports programmable 10-bit PWM dimming, allowing each MOSFET to independently adjust PWM. PWM synchronization can be achieved via hardware pins or command control, providing high-precision control with 1024 levels of brightness. The internal registers can adjust PWM configuration phases and support inter-device synchronization, enabling automatic and flexible brightness adjustment of LED beads. Additionally, the registers can configure the driving strength of the crystal oscillator and the clock buffer to optimize EMI performance, further enhancing the quality of smart driving illumination.
The GALT61120 includes a multi-point UART communication interface, supporting up to 31 addressable devices, and is compatible with the CAN physical layer, with a maximum communication rate of 1Mbps. With synchronization and clock signals, up to 32 chips can be cascaded. An I2C interface can connect to external EEPROM to store vehicle lighting configurations and status information. It also has two 8-bit ADCs with multiplexer inputs that can collect temperature data for system temperature compensation and over-temperature protection. This ensures overall temperature management and supports consistent LED brightness.
2. Competitive advantages
The GALT61120 complies with the AEC-Q100 Grade 1 automotive reliability standard, with an operating temperature range of -40℃ to 125℃. Each switch can handle a maximum current of 1.5A. Compared to international competitors, the GALT61120 reduces both static and dynamic power consumption by over 20%. Its low on-resistance of 120mΩ per channel is 40% lower than that of competitors. Additionally, it offers superior ESD interference resistance, with HBM=±8000V and CDM=±2000V.
3. Application areas
The new GALT61120 supports functions such as high beam, low beam, picture display, and brightness adjustment control. It is widely applicable to automotive headlight systems, high-brightness LED matrix systems, ADB adaptive vehicle lighting systems, animated daytime running lights, intelligent interactive matrix headlights, and smart projection headlights.
