EFR32BG26(BG26) Bluetooth SoC and EFR32MG26(MG26) Multi-protocol SoC
Candidate for:2024 World Electronics Achievement Awards - RF/Wireless/Microwave
Silicon Labs’ highest-performance Wireless SoCs - EFR32xG26 are designed to take on your most complex IoT applications that demand the very best available processing capabilities, energy efficiency, and wireless performance. The new family consists of the multiprotocol MG26 SoC, the Bluetooth LE BG26 SoCs, ideally suited for demanding smart home, smart city, and industrial use cases, this powerhouse family represents the most advanced general-purpose devices available. To enable greater intelligence for not only Matter-enabled applications, but all applications, the MG26 and BG26 also use Silicon Labs' proprietary Matrix Vector AI/ML hardware accelerator. This dedicated core is optimized for machine learning and can process ML operations up to 8x faster using as little as 1/6th the energy as a traditional embedded CPU.

The dedicated AI/ML core integrated in BG26 & MG26 SoCs is significantly improving energy efficiency because the device can offload ML-based activation or wake cues to the accelerator, allowing more power-hungry functions to sleep and minimize battery drain. This is ideal for smart home battery-operated devices like sensors or switches, where consumers look for them to fade into the background of their home and not draw their attention with the need for constant battery changes.

MG26 Multiprotocol SoC designed to be most advanced SoC for Matter over Thread. On the other hand, BG26, the newest high-performance, energy-efficient Bluetooth LE SoC is ideal for IoT wireless connectivity using Bluetooth Low Energy and Bluetooth mesh.
