Hyperlux LP Image Sensors
Candidate for:2024 World Electronics Achievement Awards - Sensor
Key features, specifications, target applications
Hyperlux LP are 1.4 µm pixel sensors that deliver industry-leading image quality and low power consumption while maximizing performance to capture crisp, vibrant images even in difficult lighting conditions, addressing a wide variety of applications targeting access, biometrics, surveillance and security, industrial automation, public & civic safety and videoconferencing functions.
The product family also features a stacked architecture design that minimizes its footprint and at its smallest approaches the size of a grain of rice, making it ideal for devices where size is critical. Depending on the use case, customers can choose between the 5-megapixel AR0544, the 8-megapixel AR0830 or the 20-megapixel AR2020.
Competitive advantages
Hyperlux LP sensors are differentiated by power consumption and architecture. The product family is specifically architected and designed for low power consumption. To further silicon architecture, these sensors also have purpose-oriented functions like Wake On Motion (WOM) and SmartROI that are extremely handy in various industrial and commercial applications. These functions enable operation of the Hyperlux LP sensors to tradeoff between bandwidth and power, and vision systems using these sensors can operate in significantly low power modes. Traditional sensors lack these features, require expensive power electronic components and (electronic) real estate and deliver, sub-optimal image quality.
