SmartSens' 50MP 1/1.28-inch image sensor SC580XS
Candidate for:2024 World Electronics Achievement Awards - Sensor
SC580XS is the first 50MP 1/1.28-inch image sensor launched by SmartSens. As a 1.22µm pixel-sized image sensor, SC580XS is equipped with SmartSens' new-generation pixel technology SFCPixel®_2 and multiple technologies and processes such as PixGain HDR®, AllPix ADAF®, etc. With performance advantages such as high dynamic range, low noise, 100% all-pixel focusing, and ultra-low power consumption, it brings delicate picture quality and rich light and shade details of texture images for the main camera of flagship smartphones.
Benefiting from the newly upgraded readout circuit architecture design and the advanced 22nm HKMG process, SC580XS possesses excellent low-power consumption performance. SC580XS supports the hardware Remosaic function, with a power consumption as low as 500mW in the 50MP Full Size mode (25fps frame rate). Meanwhile, the power consumption of SC580XS for shooting 12.5MP images and 4K videos is as low as 190mW and 150mW respectively.
Under the PixGain HDR® high dynamic range mode, the power consumption of SC580XS for shooting 12.5MP images is only 465mW (AllPix ADAF® mode) and 310mW (Sparse PDAF mode), which helps reduce the overall power consumption of the smartphone and significantly extend the maximum duration of continuous video shooting.
In terms of data transmission, SC580XS is compatible with the C-PHY/D-PHY interface protocol, with a maximum transmission rate of 3.5Gsps/trio, meeting the requirements of high frame rate and high-resolution image transmission. At the same time, SC580XS supports the function of adjustable maximum amplitude of MIPI transmission to cope with the noise and interference caused by the internal functional modules of the phone, ensuring the normal reception of data signals at the module end and further boosting the texture of mobile imaging.
