As the pioneer of HVS® - Hybrid Vision Sensing technology, AlpsenTek is dedicated to the innovation of visual sensor, and has launched the HVS-based ALPIX® series hybrid vision sensor.
As the inaugural HVS® sensor tailored for mobile devices, ALPIX-Eiger® integrates classical image sensing technology with cutting-edge event sensing technology at the architectural, pixel, data, and algorithmic levels. It offers an 8MP image resolution with a small pixel size of 1.89μm×1.89μm, enabling the output of image and event signals in parallel. By harnessing the high temporal resolution of event data, ALPIX-Eiger® significantly enhances motion estimation capabilities under complex lighting conditions, facilitating applications such as image and video deblurring, slow motion, super resolution, and image stitching, suitable for mobile phones, sports cameras, consumer drones, and more.
The ultra-low power consumption Hybrid Vision Sensor, ALPIX-Titlis®, incorporates 3D stacking and BSI process, supporting CIS, EVS, and HVS modes. In CIS mode, it delivers images up to 4MP in resolution. The EVS mode enables ultra-low power consumption and robust privacy protection for tasks such as object detection, tracking, and recognition. The HVS mode combines the features of both to enable a variety of advanced computer vision applications, catering to the demands of diverse AIoT devices and security applications.
The global team of ALPSENTEK comprises over 150 members, with over 85% dedicated to research and development. We have established 4 offices in Shenzhen, Zurich, Beijing and Nanjing, attract experts of chip design, software, hardware, and algorithm development, and we are proud to announce that our products have been already in mass production. In early 2024, ALPSENTEK collaborated with OPPO and Qualcomm to launch the AI Motion solution for mobile platforms and has co-developed with leading manufacturers in the mobile and consumer electronics industries, projecting shipments to reach the KK level between 2024 and 2025.
ALPSENTEK has invented a new Hybrid Vision Sensing technology that integrates image sensing and event sensing at the architectural, pixel, data, and algorithm levels. The HVS sensor ALPIX® outputs image and event signals respectively or in parallel, leveraging the features of both to meet various application needs.
So far, for image enhancement applications, such as deblur, slow motion, super-resolution, and image stitching, the HVS-based solutions have been significantly improved in real-time performance and light adaptability, compared to traditional methods, thanks to the innovative spatiotemporal approach. Moreover, for applications like edge intelligence and low-power Always-On (AON), HVS-based algorithms exhibit convincing low-power, high-sensitivity, and robustness in tasks of detection, tracking, and recognition. As for AI-enhancement applications of automotive, drone and robot, the HVS-based methods are competent in low-latency obstacle avoidance and intelligent navigation under complex lighting conditions.
In a primary level, the HVS provides customers with more competitive vision sensors and solutions, helping image sensors evolve from 2D imaging to 3D perception and accelerating the integration of multimodal sensors.
ALPSENTEK participates in the communities and industry events, continuously sharing and popularizing HVS technology, product and solution. It provides ALPIX® evaluation kits to multiple universities and industry partners for free, as well as offering Ph.D. sponsorships and summer internship opportunities for years. Last year, ALPSENTEK was selected for the Silicon 100: Startups Worth Watching in 2023.
