As one of the three 5G chip companies in the global open market, UNISOC possesses large-scale chip integration and packaging capabilities, covering various types of communication, computing, and control chips, such as mobile communication central processors, baseband chips, AI chips, RF frontend chips, RF chips, etc. Its business covers 140 countries worldwide and has been certified by more than 270 global operators, serving more than 500 customers including Samsung, Honor, realme, Vivo, Motorola, Hisense, ZTE, JD, UnionPay, Gree, and more.
Currently, UNISOC has more than 5,000 employees, with a research and development team accounting for 90% and over 11,000 patents applications. It has won the National Science and Technology Progress Award five times, including one special award and two first prizes. It has applied for nearly 10,000 patents, owning core patents in 3G/4G/5G, multi-card multi-standby, multi-mode, etc.
In the 5G field, UNISOC has been closely following the standard evolution and industry progress from the pre-research stage, actively launching products that support commercial use, and has achieved a complete chain in 5G technology, products and solutions, terminal applications, and industry layout. UNISOC's 5G platform has formed a series of product layouts: the performance pioneer T820 with financial-grade system security and strong multimedia advantages; T770 and T760, which achieve a balance between performance and power consumption for smooth entertainment experience; T750, providing high-speed and stable 5G connection for the public; and S8000, a tablet-specific platform with outstanding AI and multimedia capabilities. In the industry application field, UNISOC has been launched the industry's first chip platform V620 that fully supports 5G R16 broadband Internet of Things features, First-generation mass-produced 5G RedCap IoT SoC V517, UNISOC first 5G IoT-NTN satellite communication SoC V8821,V516, V510, as well as the A7870 for smart cockpit and P7885 for industry solutions.
At present, UNISOC 5G chips have covered 57 countries and regions worldwide, enabling more than 100 smart terminals and industry devices. They have achieved mass production in markets such as Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, bringing high-quality 5G smart connectivity experiences to users around the world.
The first satellite communication chip V8821 supporting 3GPP R17 NTN (non-terrestrial network) standard, developed by UNISOC, supports S and L dual-band, providing data transmission, text messaging, call and location sharing functions. It has the characteristics of low power consumption, small size, high reliability, and can provide rich application services for mobile phone direct satellite connection, satellite Internet of Things, satellite vehicle networking and other fields. Compared with other mobile phone direct satellite communication technology routes, the V8821 based on 3GPP standard 5G NTN technology route has obvious advantages in mobile phone terminal popularity, industry integration, and business richness. It is easy to achieve interoperability with terrestrial cellular networks, supports unified mobility management and resource management, and will lead the development of satellite-ground integration technology.
UNISOC has been deeply engaged in mobile communication for more than 20 years, closely following the evolution of standards and deeply cultivating 5G innovative technologies. Based on V8821, UNISOC has successfully completed the world's first S-band and first L-band 5G NTN technology satellite verification. Previously, under the leadership of China Telecom Satellite Corporation, UNISOC completed the first domestic 5G NTN mobile phone prototype direct satellite field verification, IoT business verification, Tracker dual-mode business verification and other tests, and achieved a series of major experimental breakthroughs in 5G NTN technology, which has accelerated the landing of mobile phone direct satellite and satellite IoT applications.
